The football club Gjøvik-Lyn is, based on Gjøvik/Lyn's history, one of the country's oldest. football clubs; even a few months older than the Norwegian Football Association. The club's activities have had, and continue to have, a great importance for football in the city and district throughout all these years. Based on an article about Gjøvik/Lyn from the anniversary year 2002 - and excerpts from Gjøvik Sports Club's anniversary book from 1978, our shared history is presented here until we became a club in 1993 and on to the present day.
